How to use?

Use this free web application to play online with the Rubik's Cube. Hit the Scramble button and try to figure out the solution yourself by rotating the faces using the buttons or your keyboard.

The app uses the open-source Kociemba algorithm calculator to find the solution in 20 steps or fewer (Half-Turn Metric), for any valid scramble, which is close to the theoretical optimum. On slower computers, the program automatically reduces its computing effort and may return a slightly longer solution.

How To Use The Rubik's Cube Solver?

1. Pick A View

Start by selecting the most suitable view for you with the little tabs above the cube. The default 3D view can be customized, setting transparent front faces or you can lift the hidden faces in the back. Rotate the cube with the arrows or swiping the screen.

There are two unfolded views to show all faces at once which make setting up the scrambled 3×3×3 cube twisty puzzle configuration easier.

2. Set Up The Scrambled Cube

There are many ways to set your scrambled cube:

🎨 Use the color picker
⌨️ Enter a scramble algorithm manually

The easiest way is to scan the faces with your camera, but you can also use the color picker for a manual setup. Select a color on the palette then paste it on the stickers of the puzzle. If you prefer, simply click repeatedly on a sticker to deactivate the palette and cycle through the available colors until the correct one appears.

D turn: Down clockwise

Do face rotations on the puzzle using the rotation buttons or pressing the corresponding buttons on your keyboard:
FRULBD
Capital letters indicate a clockwise rotation of each face: Front, Right, Up, Left, Back and Down.
🔄 Counterclockwise 90° turns are marked by an apostrophe '
✌️ Double turns (180°) are marked by 2.

There's an input field under the rotation buttons where you can enter algorithms.
✔️ Press the checkmark to apply it on the current cube.
▶︎ Use the play button to animate the rotations.
Mark reverse rotations with lowercase letters or single quotation marks (').

Make the program generate a random shuffle with the Scramble button, go back to the solved position by clicking Reset or click the Clear button to erase the puzzle.

3. Calculate The Solution Of The Rubik's Cube

When the colors are properly configured and match your scrambled Rubik's Cube, click the Solve button to get the solution. The online Rubik's Cube solver will alert you if it finds errors in your scramble.

Pressing the Solve button will leave this scramble page open and show the solution in a new browser tab. This will allow you to come back to make adjustments if something is wrong. You'll find further instructions on the solution page explaining how to use the step-by-step cube solution.

Maybe your cube was taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. Pop out ANY edge and flip it, or swap the stickers!

Its ok I used this to solve a MARIO PICTURE CUBE and I was able to solve it with this by swapping the colors with others.

it doesn't actually find the optimal solution, but otherwise works as advertised. I scrambled it with just 10 moves and it gave me a 20 step solution
