Twisty puzzle designers keep pushing the boundaries of big cube puzzles to the limits. There are 22x22x22 big cubes but even 33x33x33 and 49x49x49 world records. Pushing the limits upwards we often forget about the one and only small cubes, like the 1x1x1 Rubik's Cube which is also a World record. We might never know for sure the upper limit of building the highest order NxNxN cube but one thing is certain: there's no smaller cube than the 1x1x1.

How To Use The Solver?

The 1x1 solver works exactly like our 3x3, 2x2 and 4x4 solvers, only faster:

• 🎲 Press Scramble and watch the cube tumble into a random position. (Yes, it can be scrambled. We checked.)
• 🎨 Or paint it yourself with the palette. The program accepts only real 1x1 cubes: white opposite yellow, green opposite blue, orange opposite red, and no mirror images.
• 🔄 Rotate the cube with the x, y and z buttons, or type an algorithm like x y2 z' into the box. Face turns are accepted too: on a 1x1 U is the same as y, R is x and F is z, because the only layer is the whole cube.
• 🧠 Press Solve. The solution appears under the cube with the player you know from the other solvers, and every step gets a picture below.

On the image you can see a fully solved 1x1 cube. You can achieve the same success in a couple of steps: the program searches all 24 states of the puzzle and returns the optimal solution, which is never longer than two rotations. Hold the cube with the white side up and the green side facing you to apply it.
